In my many years in the beauty business, I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve said that beauty is changing faster than ever before. Only the changes now are happening at a faster rate than ever before and have reached a point that make it almost impossible to keep pace.
We learn of new algorithmic technology that drives enterprise value, of store closures and then openings, of brands targeting, like a laser, a highly focused cohort of potential users and new social platforms that start as one thing and then change into something else. All the while, beauty stays hyper-connected, moving swiftly between one business method and another but facing multiple challenges that require attention today, for fear of being left behind tomorrow.
