Algenist – expanding market presence in the UK and beyond

Launched in 2011, Algenist offers skincare highly grounded in science harnessing the regenerative ability of nutrient-rich microalgae.

The brand had already built a strong presence in the US in Sephora, Ulta, QVC and Nordstrom with growing international business in Canada, Mexico, China, South East Asia and Australia through Sephora.

Algenist approached The Red Tree with a limited but successful presence in the UK; Space NK, QVC and Feelunique [now Sephora] and was looking to expand distribution with selected premium retailers.

What did we do?

Algenist worked closely with The Red Tree for over 2 years to expand their presence in the UK market. Initially working on a strategy to align on the company goals and KPI’s, The Red Tree acted as UK Country Manager and worked as key contacts for all aspects of the business.

The Red Tree successfully opened accounts with Net a Porter and John Lewis Partnership, developed the business in Space NK and QVC and opened distribution in the Scandinavian market.
