A prestigious Selection Committee of leading beauty experts and investors have reviewed a long list of applications to Europe’s first Beauty Spotlight and announced their top 12 independent brands as the ones to watch.
The 12 exciting indie brands have been announced as: BYBI Beauty, ORBO, Rouge Bunny Rouge, Sampler, HO KARAN, Shampora, Electric Hair, BAD NORWEGIAN, Purepotions, Cocunat, My.Haircare and Be for Beauty. Each will be presenting on the main stage at the upcoming Beauty & Money Summit in Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London on 28 June 2018.
The Selection Committee which includes: Henkel Beauty Care, Unilever Ventures, Piper, L Catterton, TSG Consumer, Otium Capital, Manzanita Capital, BlueGem, Alantra, Founders Factory and Johnson & Johnson, reviewed all applications and expressed that the quality was very high in Europe and that there were several brands that applied that they would like to hear from.
Entries from Skincare were particularly strong in Europe and represented six of the Final 12. This reflects the rising interest in Skincare, as demonstrated in the latest Beauty Trends report produced by Euromonitor International, and the growing interest in Skin Microbiome ingredients.
The Beauty & Money Summit connects investors, multinational strategic brands and independent beauty brands to discuss potential partnerships, whilst providing updates on the latest trends in the European market. Speakers include Marie Drago, Gallinée; Trinny Woodall, TRINNY London; Anna Teal, Walgreens Boots Alliance and more.
Past attendees to Beauty & Money LA earlier this year and Beauty & Money NY in 2017 include Coty, Revlon, Shiseido, Dermaflash, L’Oréal, Facebook, Wells Fargo, Cover FX, Deloitte, Scentbird, Oracle, The Red Tree and more.
Beauty Bakerie, a Beauty Spotlight finalist at the inaugural event in New York has since been invested in by Unilever which has been achieving significant growth. Pulp Riot, a second Beauty Spotlight finalist in New York last year has also very recently announced their acquisition by L’Oréal.
Angela Caglia, Co-Founder & CEO of Angela Caglia Skincare said: “The Beauty and Money Summit is the only place to go as a brand if you want the kind of exposure that can take you from niche status to global powerhouse in the shortest amount of time.”
Kelly Kovack, CEO & Founder of BeautyMatter said: “Beauty & Money has created a unique platform that creates value and efficiency for both brands and investors”
