Spotlight: Beauty Brands Doing Good and How You Can, Too

Under the current climate, the beauty industry has exemplified how vital it is to find common ground and support each other in our needs. Companies such as LVMH, L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Coty, Clarins and many others have all shifted their focus to produce hand sanitizer to address the needs of our society.

The positive rippling effects the beauty industry has set in motion gives us hope. Beauty brands all over the world have epitomized the fact that giving back, now as ever, cannot be understated.

To ignite hope and inspire change, we’ve rounded up a few beauty brands doing good and have listed ways in which you can, too.

The Body Shop

Aside from sending out positive messages and uplifting their audience on social media, The Body Shop has delivered care packages to hospitals for NHS workers in the UK. They’ve also donated 30,000 units of cleansers to shelters and senior citizen communities in the US and Canada.

Farmacy

Through a partnership with Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund, Farmacy will be donating 10,000 meals a day. They are also matching each contribution made to the fund. Five dollars equates to 50 meals – a little can go a long way.

Miller Harris

Miller Harris is partnering with Age UK and has donated their entire supply of hand wash, hand lotion and soaps to the most vulnerable in the UK. As a small brand, they are urging other small businesses with similar capabilities to do what they can to uplift their communities.

Soap and Glory

For every purchase made online or in Boots, Soap and Glory will be making a donation to the Hygiene Bank. The Hygiene Bank is a grassroots organisation that gives hygiene and personal care products to those in need throughout the UK.

Volto Urbano

Volto Urbano is donating 50% of all of their sales to organisations delivering meals to people during the crisis. They have partnered with No Kid Hungry, Meals On Wheels and God’s Love We Deliver.

Reach out

Supporting those who follow you or who are around you by being a sounding board can make a huge difference and can trigger more positive change.

Last night, people across the UK joined in unison – from their windows – to thank and show their appreciation to NHS workers for all that they are doing and sacrificing for all of us during these unprecedented times.

Reaching out to your community and letting them know that you are there and that you support them can make a world of difference.

COVID-19 is taking a huge toll on small businesses. Indie Beauty Brands are among many others who are struggling to stay afloat. Supporting these companies, by purchasing their products or by just connecting them to your network can help many during these trying times.
